Hello! I've just started playing dnd for less than a year now. I've been toying with an idea for a backup character. Starting level to rejoin the campaign is currently at level 7. I planned on starting at level 3 Inquisitive and level 4 Hunter. Does Insightful Fighting compete for concentration with Favored Foe?
Insightful Fighting: "As a bonus action, you can make a Wisdom (Insight) check against a creature you can see that isn’t incapacitated, contested by the target’s Charisma (Deception) check. If you succeed, you can use your Sneak Attack against that target even if you don’t have advantage on the attack roll, but not if you have disadvantage on it."
Favored Foe: "When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can call on your mystical bond with nature to mark the target as your favored enemy for 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The first time on each of your turns that you hit the favored enemy and deal damage to it, including when you mark it, you can increase that damage by 1d4."
I'm assuming not since Insightful Fighting doesn't mention concentration at all while Favored Foe does.
Your interpretation is correct. One speciifies concentration, and therefore requires it. The other is activated by use of the bonus action and passing the insight vs deception roll.

Ah, thank you. I thought I was going crazy going back and forth on that!
