I was trying to remember a feat, racial trait, or class ability that works like the bark skin spell. I remember bits and pieces like when u use the skill u have reduced speed, u develop a bark like skin texture and ur reach increase I think. 

If I iam wrong and this is a spell then please tell me.

Could you possibly be thinking of guardian of nature? 

Edit: or probably the (UA) Primeval Guardian ranger subclass
