So it was always said that one DND and 5e will be compatible. Now, I wonder.. will the app also be like that? So for an example, if I create a PC of an.. one DND warlock, can I use a 5e subclass? Vice versa?

The way the backwards compatibility will work was described in this way (in a video yesterday)
Characters made using 2014 character options and characters made using 2024 character options can coexist in a game using 2024 rules but not in a game using 2014 rules because 2014 rules won't accommodate some of the changes made for 2024 character options. There is supposed to be guidance in the new PHB for porting character options not published in the 2024 PHB like backgrounds so I'd imagine that there will either be guidance for using pre 2024 subclasses or they will just work with the 2024 classes.
