So, I thought back to when I first read The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander, it wasn't until years later I noticed it was part of a series (it was that good of a standalone story). So, I thought the Chronicles Pydain series could probably make for an interesting campaign setting. Each of the books in the series could be the template for a different adventure. The Black Cauldron, the item at the center of the book of the same name, could make for a pretty good stop the BBEG but fight a nearly unstoppable army of the dead if the PCs were a bit too slow sort of adventure, pretty decent for the Halloween season. I haven't read the rest of the series. Personally, I find the Disney movie The Black Cauldron to be an insult, and a source of anger.
