I am interested in creating servitor race that can bring more flavor to my game.
As an exchange for its strong social capability, I wish to restrict martial weapon uses. (Which fits the setting I am running right now)
So my question is how can I restrict what kind of weapon a race can use in character creation? or is there none and I just have to remind it to PCs every time they go and buy weapons in a shop?
I suspect it's not really an option. The two things you could do to influence a race's weapon choice would be to make their size Small, so heavy weapons are out, then you could give them like a -2 to strength so that big melee weapons are not their style. 5e likes to let any race pick any class, and restricting weapons any further than this takes about half the classes out of the game.

D&D Beyond FoundersAgreed - the ethos of 5th edition is for races/backgrounds to ADD further abilities and options, rather than restrict existing abilities/options.
You could make it a roleplay restriction however, perhaps the use of Martial Weapons is considered beneath them?
