I created a Bladesinger before they changed everything about the class the rights way. I knew that going into 6th level the two attacks would be nullified if I cast one blade cantrip. So, to work around this I took a dip in fighter at first level with two weapon fighting. And needless to say, didn't take any blade cantrips because they were next to useless. I made my DM aware of the change to Bladesinger class and asked that one of my cantrips be traded out for a blade cantrip, but he refuses. How can I convince him otherwise?
Not sure if you will be able to convince him, honestly, as you apparently still created the character with a plan to work around the old situation. I wouldn't fret it too heavily, or ask if you can use the Tasha's rules allowing you to swap a cantrip after a long rest (Cantrip Formulas)
May or may not sway his decision, but it's about the only thing in the rules that might support your wish. Personally, as a DM, I would consider allowing changes like this when RaW mechanics change. I would maybe start by asking if Tasha's optional rules would be employed, then clarify that one. He may be looking at using some of them for his monsters, and if the monsters get access to new rule changes, so should players.

Instead of asking for a workaround, ask to use the existing optional rule introduced in Tasha's that solve your problem:
Cantrip Formulas
3rd-level wizard feature
You have scribed a set of arcane formulas in your spellbook that you can use to formulate a cantrip in your mind. Whenever you finish a long rest and consult those formulas in your spellbook, you can replace one wizard cantrip you know with another cantrip from the wizard spell list.

How do I convince this person that I know of this thing I want.
1. Talk to him and have a discussion
2. Go to the internet and ask strangers
In reality, the only way you can do it is by talking to the DM. If he doesn't agree to the change, it sucks. But that's what he's ruled on it.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
Thank you everyone.
