Hello....so my daughter's playing a sorcerer, and her sister is playing a druid. When the druid acquired her beast companion, her sister lost her mind because she couldn't have a pet too. Is there a feat or anything that she can use to acquire an animal companion? (Aside from multi-classing a druidic sorcerer...she's only at level 3 and has a 10 wisdom, so I'm trying to find something that works prior to her getting to level 8 lol)
Well, she can learn the Find Familiar spell by taking either the Magic Initiate (Wizard) or Ritual Caster (Wizard) feats. I recommend the latter as it's got much more versatility. Otherwise, she could multiclass to Warlock and take Pact of the Chain.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Along the lines of Familiars, the "Draconic Gift" from Fizban's, Draconic Familiar, is also an option. May not fit well with the story or background though.
Alternatively, I have made a bunch of items that also grant Find Familiar because I am obsessed with the spell. Some are published, but most are not.
This one should be suitable for a sorcerer though.
If that method is more to your liking, but not that option, I can provide my other options.
If Familiars in general are no good, there are the "Sidekick" rules from Tasha's that could be used in conjunction with some gold to buy a pet. Or it could just be as simple as she saves a wolf from a hunter's trap and it follows her around.
I personally like the Familiar route for the inevitable death that occurs, but your mileage may vary.
Let your sorcerer find this item which lets her cast find familiar like a wizard and gain an animal companion

Wondrous item (tattoo), rarity varies
Produced by a special needle, this magic tattoo contains a single spell of up to 5th level, wrought on your skin by a magic needle. To use the tattoo, you must hold the needle against your skin and speak the command word. The needle turns into ink that becomes the tattoo, which appears on the skin in whatever design you like. Once the tattoo is there, you can cast its spell, requiring no material components. The tattoo glows faintly while you cast the spell and for the spell's duration. Once the spell ends, the tattoo vanishes from your skin.
Earning the trust of an animal can be a fun character event for any class. My cleric player wanted a pet; he ended up befriending a dopey stirge in the Underdark by offering it candy. Now it follows him around and bonks into magical light sources. My players also encountered a wounded pegasus. The barbarian did something selfless to protect it and earned its loyalty. Now it's her mount.
You might also consider the Bag of Tricks. It's a magic item that enables you to pull up to three fuzzies out of the bag per day, which transform into various beasts under the wielder's control. They can even act in combat, and they are friendly to the party. My fighter used to summon the creatures just for company, and when they got injured (because they do have hit points like any summons) my DM would always narrate them like they were made of yarn and didn't feel pain. It was pretty cute.

Since it is not in the above text, "Spellwrought Tattoo" of the uncommon variety is what you are looking for. I disagree with using this method though. The single-use nature of it makes it inconvenient to use. Especially when the familiar inevitably dies. You could rule that it does not get used up, but at that point, you might as well create your own to make it more interesting as I did.
All viable suggestions for the most part. I'd considered letting her stumble across an animal of some sort, though as we're amidst the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign, I'm not sure that'd be the best route to go. Appreciate all the suggestions though! thanks again. :)

And an animal that can understand what's being said (if not necessarily speak itself) is significantly more versatile than a regular animal.
