Guidance. I have a tabaxi rogue in an IRL game who took the feat Magic Initiate: Cleric and uses the Guidance cantrip to enhance his thieving. He takes a moment to ask the Cat Lord for assistance. When other characters want tp use it, they have to ask the Cat Lord for assistance before he casts it, and I make the other players do a silly "whiskers" sign with three fingers up to their face. It's been a lot of fun.
Shocking Grasp. My son plays a wizard diviner in his game with friends, and Shocking Grasp is his only damage spell. He uses his ferret familiar to deliver it to great effect and much fun. It helps that as a familiar, the ferret is basically expendable. The group calls the ferret "Meat Tube" and he's on his third of fourth incarnation now.
Eldritch Blast and True Strike. A wizard of mine (a variant human) took the Spell Sniper feat, and chose Eldritch Blast. Now, with True Strike (which we have home ruled has a range of line of sight, because the RAW range (30') is dumb), she settles in, points her finger, takes a turn to aim (True Strike) then (usually) hits whatever she is aiming at, regardless of distance (240' doubled range for Spell Sniper) or cover (also Spell Sniper). It's only 1d10, but fun nevertheless. You could go the other way, a Warlock with both cantrips, and Eldritch Blast would scale as you rise in level and incantations. But her story didn't match that.
This is fun. I hope to hear other ideas, too. Cantrips in 5e are fun, and make being a magic user not suck so much at low levels.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
So part of this worked because I forgot the weight and no attack restrictions on the Mage Hand cantrip, but a while back the Arcane Trickster in one of my games used Mage Hand to grab the femur of a skeleton that was forming from bones on the floor of the room they entered. I ruled that meant the skeleton couldn't move from his square. Then the character used the femur to hit said skeleton (this is where I allowed him to break the rules without realizing it. Stil, it was fun and cool)
I'm looking to get creative with some of my cantrips.
Let's hear some stories about the times you've used them for whatever purpose.
