I have a character that i have been working on that will ultimately become a Warlock/Paladin. I'm not exactly sure how many levels of each, but i plan starting with a warlock getting and then multi classing into paladin. I am trying to create a chart that i can use for reference for each level i try to take.
So i understand that a Full Warlock level 20 will have: 4 level 5 spell slots.
I also understand that a Full Paladin Level 20 will have: 4x 1st level slots, 3x 2nd level slots, 3x 3rd level slots, 3x 4th level slots, 2x 5th level slots
but what would a Warlock 10/Paladin 10 have? how would i calculate it? i read page 165 from PHB but it seems like they leave Warlock off ... should it count as a full spell caster like wizard? or does it have unique rules?
In the highly likely event that Matthias_von_Schwarzwald is the person who answers this question i would like to thank you for the fact you have answered almost all my questions and have put up with my stupid Noob-ness.
It's actually easier for a warlock/something than any other two classes, because warlocks don't use the same rules as everyone else for spell slots. You have your warlock spell slots based on your warlock level, which recharge as normal for warlock spell slots, and you have your paladin spell slots based on your paladin level, which recharge as normal for paladin spell slots.
Remember that you can use your warlock spell slots for your paladin spells and vice versa, and you can use your warlock spell slots for Divine Smite, but if you have an Eldritch Invocation that specifies that you can use a warlock spell slot for something, you can't use your paladin spell slots for it.
My understanding is that you would have paladin spell slots that are used for pally spells and lock slots for lock spells and those are independent of each other if it says "Burn a warlock spell slot to cast blank."
Edit: Sorry, I found the page you were referring to now and it explicitly mentions warlocks as 'Pact Magic'. That will determine how that interacts with other spellcasting classes
Which basically says, "You can cast lock spells with pally slots and you can cast pally spells with lock slots." But the catch is that warlock doesn't contribute to your multiclass spellcaster slot count so if you have a 6/4 pally/lock, you are only going to be 3 on the multiclass spellcaster spell slot chart and that's assuming you are even on the chart because warlock doesn't count. It's slots ARE separately calculated. So you would have pally slots plus warlock slots unless you take another spellcasting class.

You would not use that chart at all for a warlock/paladin you've got it right there at the end ;)
