Hey all! Just wanted some input as to what classes you all would think each character in Derek Landy's novels would be!
I've got a bunch built but I'm curious as to what everyone else thought; Ghastly as a Monk/Fighter, Skulduggery as a Sorcerer/Fighter, China as a Scribes Wizard... no Character is too obscure!
Well, I’d say that Skul-man would actually be a wizard, as would most of the “sorcerers,” because while they have natural tendencies toward magic, it requires so much study that they are basically wizards. Skulduggery would likely be a Wizard (necromancy) using the unofficial rules for subclass multiclassing into an evocation wizard or multiclassed into a sorcerer. Valkyrie would also be a wizard, though her school would change depending on what book you are reading. Pre-Darquesse she would be similar to Skulduggery, but once she got her new powers maybe she would be a Wild Magic sorcerer with a unique ability that allows her to steal magic from others, similar to the Arcane Trickster rogue. I agree with your analysis of Ghastly, but I would actually consider him more of a monk (four elements)/Wizard (evocation), though not many levels in that, and you could probably get away with just having him be a four elements monk, though a fighter with the unarmed fighting fighting style and the eldritch knight subclass or some multiclassing in evocation wizard would work as well. China is definitely the unofficial rune wizard or possibly even a mystic. Fletcher is obviously a conjuration wizard. The Dead Men are all wizards multiclassed with fighters or perhaps some are bladesingers or multiclassed with rogues. Any seers are divination wizards. Gordon Edgley is a bard, though his abilities likely are not magical in nature. I can come up with more characters if you want. Finally, keep in mind that everyone (in this list) is human, with three exceptions. Gordon is a shade (unofficial kobold press race), Skulduggery is a reborn or Matt Mercer’s Hollow One, and Valkyrie is a tiefling, though she has no outward traits of being one and no fire resistance.

I am really like seeing this, I love the books and wish they got more attention.
What do you think Abysnnia and Darquesse are, their magic is more unique
