So I dug a bit through the forum, but did not find anything. If it has been discussed, please point it out to me.
I created a character as a cleric of the Fire domain, which allows the first-level spells to be Identify and Searing Smite. Both of these spells become 'always prepared' in your spell slots, but Identify is also automatically selected as my ritual cast that cannot be edited either. So I have Identify twice on my spell and ritual casting. Thought of attempting homebrew, but my efforts only gives me another spell to select and does not allow me to unselect the Identify spell.
Any thoughts or recommendations? While this can be advantageous, it is more disadvantageous from my view as a cleric.
Your Ritual Spells list just shows every spell you can cast as a ritual. All classes that can cast spells as rituals aside from wizards and Pact of the Tome warlocks have to have the spell prepared as well.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

This is the intended design and probably will never change.
It's there as a prepped spell because of your domain feature having it always prepped. So it will be there on your sheet as prepped so you can cast using spell slots by clicking the cast button.
It's there as a ritual spell because any spell you have prepared that has the ritual tag can be cast as a ritual. It's on the sheet to remind you that it can be cast this way and will have a different casting time if cast this way so you don't have to use a spell slot.

Thank you! Just got concerned that I was being double-tagged for spells.
Thank you for explaining that! Felt like I was losing on a spell slot for some reason.
