So I'm relatively new to DnD and just started a campaign as an Artificer. I was wondering if I would be able to utilize the hat or if it's solely meant to be worn by a wizard? Any advice would be appreciated
It says it can only be attuned by wizards, so solely wizards. But there will no doubt be at least one post saying the following: Check with your DM, they may allow it.
Haha thanks. I already approached him with the question and he basically said the same thing. I was just curious since Eberron is a new book and wasn't sure since the artificer uses the wizards spell list if it would be possible.
Here's something to look forward too: at higher levels, Artificers can literally say "This hat must be attuned by a wizard? No it doesn't, I am an artificer, I make magic items obey me."

Formerly Devan Avalon.
Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
Yeah, the artificer's 14th-level feature lets them ignore class restrictions (among others) for attunement, so once you get there, you absolutely can attune to a Hat of Wizardry. Until then, gotta be a wizard.
Thanks for the replies! I knew I’d be able to at higher levels, but was curious about lower to get a potential bonus cantrip. No big deal though, artificers have some cool abilities the way it is, I’ll just wait patiently and hope I survive lol
