I only bought a portion of some of my source books, such as magic items, spells, anything for character creation. However, it looks like with the latest update individual item purchases are no longer available and the books are available to me now in whole
Has this happened with anyone else (getting full access to the book despite only buying part of it in the past) or is it just me?
A la carte purchasing was retired last year. If you have an interest in completing books you bought partially, you'll need to reach out to Customer Support.

I didn't even KNOW that you could complete former A La Carte stuff. Good to know, as I have a few loose ends...
But, serious mode, LaTia....
Maybe unretire it.
Removing A La Carte was bad for the site, the game, WotC, & Hasbro, PR & sales-wise.
The next few weeks & forward would be an ESPECIALLY good time to do this, PR-wise. People will be flocking to digital sales, if they purchase any unnecessary goods & services, for an obvious reason.
You need to talk to execs about a la carte needing to return, the promised SRDs for older editions, bloated pricing, the broken content, lack of website development, lack of effort to fix such, mass firings & so much more, since you are the closest line to Chris Cocks we have.
(Seriously, in addition to the community issues, convince him to sell the entire Rom IP & the Micronauts license to Disney in exchange for the full 80s GI Joe, DND animated series, & 80s Transformer movie monetization rights. Hasbro ain't doing anything with those 2, & removing Disney as an obstacle to exclusive monetization of those animations would be a fair asking point)

We don't have plans to bring back a la carte at this time, but your feedback is noted!

Fizban, for example, I have access to things like magic items and spells that I bought, but when looking at Dragon’s Hoard or Plundering A Hoard, I’m taken to the purchase option for the whole book at $29.99 for digital in order to access it
Since taking away a la carte purchases you no longer get the credit for what you’ve already purchased automatically. If you email customer services they’ll give you a discount code for what you’ve already got to apply at checkout
