Any thoughts on this statement at the end of the adventure “…an apparition of an emancipated skull with a glowing green eye.”
overall I think the adventure looks ok and I plan on playing it through in 2 weeks…but ‘green’ just bugs the crap out of me. Every 5e pic of vecna that I’ve seen is clearly a red eye.
any thoughts on why it’s green? Normally I wouldn’t think into it much-but I’m incorporating this into phandelvar and below and glowing green eyes are a specific plot point.
Hmm, that’s the confusion then, thanks….the apparition is vecna -with his eye in his skull (it’s specifically not his missing eye that is the magic item). I’m going with red and calling ‘green’ a typo.

That's Vecna before he lost his hand and eye
Later, Kas turned on Vecna and used the sword to sever the archlich’s hand and put out his eye.
...
The accompanying stat block depicts Vecna in his archlich form prior to Kas’s betrayal
Given the eye is glowing the same color as the gem, and also the strange eldritch power we've seen him surrounded with in various pieces of art for Eve of Ruin, it stands to reason that is the color of his arcane power, rather than the natural color of the eye.

Seems weird to call it a "typo" (an error) when it's clearly not and matches the art of the eye across multiple pieces of media
What a person does at their home table does not have to hold up to scrutiny from published materials. No matter the label given, it's simply valid. This is why Eye of Vecna is officially purple in my games from this moment forward.

Oh, I wasn't scrutinising their choice to recolor the eye, just quizzical in response to the specific wording they used, calling it a "typo"

not really what I was getting at. I was originally looking for insight as to why green as I suspected I was missing something.

. The ‘typo’ comment is specifically because green for the eye in his head (again, not the magic item) does NOT match the art across multiple pieces of media (which all show red). But even the ‘before betrayal’ comment doesn’t make much sense as the art for the new Vecna book (which is after betrayal) shows the eye in his head to be red….and it’s the current godlet version of him talking in the scene in the new lvl 3 adventure.
but to the other’s point, I get I can call it whatever color I want-was just wondering if there was an explanation for green-and I don’t think it agrees with anything else we’re being shown….again, for the eye in his head.
I think it'd be more accurate to call it an 'error' rather than a typo: to my mind, a whole other word doesn't necessary constitute a 'typo', and the color choice is very likely intentional.
That said, my impression of the color change is that the visage is of Vecna before he's attained full archlich powers, therefore it matches the color of the eye rather than how his current magic is represented.
That also said, you can absolutely make it whatever color you want, which is the beauty of D&D.
