It's insane that my pre-order digital copy of Vecna: Eve of Ruin has taken longer and is harder to get my hands on then just walking into my local game store and buying it off the shelf without pre-ordering it. It's honestly sad how in just a year, and on it's 50th anniversary too, this game and site has just gone so far downhill due to corrupt greed. All the hard work of the game designers, artists, creative writers and the team to make a really amazing digital tool flushed down the toilet cause Hasbro thought they could make this game "Sucseful" after shitting the bed for years and nearly crashing their own company.
I had hope this would be solved before the week mark, but looks like it wasn't.
You pre-ordered the physical book + digital bundle? That's not the way it comes across in your post, but I may not be understanding what you are saying properly. The digital-only version that was not part of the bundle comes out next week, as has always been known. That's when I'll be getting access to my pre-order.

There has been some confusion over pre-orders and early access, so I'll try and break it down as best I can:
Confusion Point 1:
Before April 30th 2024, pre-ordering the Digital + Physical bundle at dndstore.wizards.com (not the D&D Beyond Marketplace) would grant you early digital access on May 7th
After April 30th 2024, the marketplace was refreshed, incorporating digital + physical bundle purchasing for North American customers. Non-NA customers would still have to go to dndstore.wizards.com. NA customers visiting that site would be re-directed to the D&D Beyond marketplace.
Purchases of Digital + Physical bundles made through the new marketplace (for NA customers) no longer come with digital early access as a pre-order bonus
Confusion Point 2:
Select gaming stores were getting the physical version for early access sales. This is just the physical version and just at select stores
Confusion Point 3:
Some sites erroneously reported that pre-ordering just the digital version would get you early access. This is not, nor has ever been, the case
Summary:
You should have digital early access if you pre-ordered the digital + physical bundle from dndstore.wizards.com. Pre-ordering just the digital version, or pre-ordering the bundle from the D&D Beyond marketplace after it's launch on April 30th will not give you digital early access.
I am sorry for the confusion, this has been somewhat of a perfect storm for that
My problem is that the book came out on May 7th. I can walk into any bookstore/Game store in my city and buy this book, so why does is the digital book not out yet. If your pre-ordered the bundle, you don't get the book 2 weeks early, you get access to it on release.
No, the confusion is from poor marketing, you could buy the book in stores on may 7th. Every bookstore and game store had the physical copies of these books available on May 7th. You didn't give people access to the boom two week early if they pre order, you made it so you could have access to it on release day if you pre ordered it.

This bit isn't accurate, physical early access is for select local gaming stores, per this announcement.
Local Game Store Early Access, an early sales program for select Dungeons & Dragons books, kicks off this year with the release of Vecna: Eve of Ruin! With this program, local game stores in the United States and Canada can begin collecting preorders now and sell traditional and alternate-art cover versions of select tabletop books up to two weeks before their global release date.

Which is great marketing, I think. Really glad WotC are doing something to encourage people to support their local game stores.

It's an expansion on WotCs ongoing support of LGS. Alternate rulebook covers are an LGS exclusive too.
If everyone gets early access it ceases being an early access program.
DDB grants early access via certain types of purchases because it wants to use the incentive of early access to promote specific products. They're not unique in this regard.

Okay, I resend my statement. I was wrong. I was taking the information I saw, didn't fully understand what happened and now realized I made a mistake.
Still, I don't understand why early access couldn't have been given to everyone.
