Now on to the main topic of discussion! Today I am asking you, D&D Beyond community, what your thoughts are on a Greek/Roman Mythologically themed D&D campaign!? I've been thinking about this for a while now and I thought this would be an excellent idea for their next campaign. I mean, let's be honest here, what ISN'T there to love about the mythology!? Not only would all of the classes have a place in a setting like this but you'd also be able to add new official races to the list such as a Satyr! You'd have a rich pool of gods and history to choose from along with magic and adventures alike!
Let me know what you think. Do you think this is an awesome idea or maybe we could come up with something better? Feel free to write your answers down below in the comment section and don't forget to answer the poll!
Definitely yes. I love D&D and I love Greek/Roman mythology. If you make this a thing please, for the love of all that is fluffy, invite me - Roll20 named Samael. I'll do what I can to fit the schedule. I'd even consider Play-By-Post although I don't enjoy the format.
Excellent idea.

If you haven't you should definitely look into the Theros block of Magic. The three sets, Theros, Born of the Gods and Journey into Nyx were all themed around Greek / Roman styles. Some of the art there is incredible, and could make for really interesting plot hooks. I know I've seen a few people throwing around the concept of creating an adventure by opening a set of Magic cards, and I think that could be a really fun prep session!
This is a card for Born of the Gods, and the art is just incredible! You could get some really awesome character art for players right from the cards.
@hermes precisely what I was thinking! I figured if Theros' set was such a huge hit, why not interest D&D fans with a story of their own!? Personally I feel as though a campaign revolving around Theros would have been far more richer in story and lore than Zendikar but that's just my opinion. What do you think?
I agree whole heartedly! Zendikar never really clicked with me, but the idea of the Pantheon in Theros was always so great. It's literally the perfect D&D setting, it's a shame they didn't start doing the Planescape Magic / D&D crossover material until after that block was over. I'd love to play a Cleric in that setting, because of the incredible options. The flavor and homebrew potential is off the charts.
@hermes I'm glad you agree. Hopefully I can get word of this out to the D&D community at large. If there is a resounding need for this from everyone in the community I'd bet WoTC would have no problem developing something like this!
Tymora and Beshabea, Goddesses of Good and Bad luck are both two halves of Tyche/Fortuna, having been slain by Moander. (Source!) Hermes visited teh Forgotten Realms once looking into what had caused Tyche's disappearance.
Similarly, one of the Devils in Hell is a Roman god... Dispater, IIRC. Dispater, also known to the Romans as Orcus (sound familiar?) who was identified with either Hades or Pluto.
Hello everyone!
Welcome back! Last time I had asked the population what their thoughts on party sizes for D&D and was amazed at all the responses. If we're vying for work, I'd love a Theros art book too!
The Greek gods are my go to pantheon for D&D.
This aged well lol. 2 years and 2/3 months later were when WotC published Mythic Odysseys of Theros.
They are already included actually!

There's lots of stuff you can do with this!
