I'm also really glad that unlike Phandelver, Acquisitions Inc wasn't automatically comped to my account, because if it had I would be asking how to return it. Thank you for making that opt-in!

I dunno. The adventure has been around long enough that if someone really wanted to abuse meta/cheat, the paywall has been penetrated by longevity and a volume of live plays on record.
I think it's nice move on WotC/DDB part. I'm presuming this adventure is being retired so that Dragons of Stormwreck Isle will become the new Essentials Kit or what have you, I'm thinking that new set might have some modest tweaks to bring some of the basic rules more in line with stuff in XGtE/Tasha's ... if there's a window for giving the +2/+1 option to PHB races before 2024, it's probably that boxed set.

I agree that it's a great "Welcome to the Family" gift from WotC to all us subscribers. Freebies always make folks feel like they are more part of a thing, so it's a good marketing move, IMO. Also, being a guy who has refused to buy any modules (all homebrew here) it opens the door for me to try something officially published.
