Anyone know if there's a way to mark homebrew spells as hombrew in the character builder/spell select? A few of us keep accidentally selecting homebrew's not approved by the DM. Looking for a tag or text colour change thing, thanks.
On the very first page of creating your character, where you name your character and select the "Character Preferences", the first toggle is titled "Homebrew Content". If you don't want to see the Homebrew Content that is available for your character, then you would need to turn this toggle off.
If you want to have Homebrew Options available and are just looking to know which spells are Homebrew and which ones are Standard spells, then there is no visual indicator when selecting spells.
Although, as far as I know, the only Homebrew spells that you should be seeing are those created by you, and those created by your DM as long as you are in the Campaign within D&D-B that he/she created. I assume you would know what spells you created in the past, so I am assuming that the spells you are selecting were created by your DM, so maybe they can provide a list of spells they have created, that they do not want added to a Character.
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.

This is incorrect. When you are in a campaign with someone and content sharing is enabled, it shares content from and with everyone. The DM specifically can disallow what official content is visible/accessible from their own collection but all homebrew gets shared.
I can’t find it in the character builder. But, if you look at the spell’s page, or even when you are flipping through the spell list by class, down at the bottom it will say the source, like basic rules, Or Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, etc. A homebrew spell doesn’t have that line at the bottom. It ’s below the tags.
It might be an extra step beyond what the OP is asking for, but that’s the best way (I think) to find the source.
I also find myself kind of knowing when it’s homebrew, because I see it and think, that spell is crazy good, why doesn’t everyone use it all the time? Often, I find that to be a clue to double check.
Plus if you have a general knowledge of the spell lists you can generally figure out, "Wait a sec, I don't recognize this spell name..." And then you can search the DDB spell lists to see if it shows up there.

Official spells/etc have a source listed.
Homebrew has a version.

This is a signature. It was a simple signature. But it has been upgraded.
