If anyone is familiar with the movie Eragon or the book series the Inheritance cycle, a mate and I would like to create a custom class revolving around the concept of being a dragon rider but we have no idea how to go about it can someone please help?
Before you start, please note that you cannot create homebrew classes on D&D Beyond - you can create homebrew subclasses though - so pick which of the existing classes you want to make your dragonrider subclass for.
You could make several if you want, so you have a dragonrider subclass for fighters and another one for rogues etc.

My suggestion would be to start from the Eldritch Knight (as the dragon riders are both fighters and spellcasters).
Go on Class then Create and select Eldritch Knight as the subclass to start with.
