Let's say you got a chance to play a game with 5 other people. Whether you're DM or not is up to you and when it comes to choosing other people, pick whoever your dice desires! Also assume that everyone you pick at least has a decent idea of how to play already.
I'd say the choices for my party would have to be: - Jon Favreau as the dungeon master - Matthew Lillard - Henry Cavill - Nancy Cartwright - Billy West
Jon Favreau seems like he would make a great DM with his writing and story telling capabilities, also having him act out so many NPCs would be a fun time. Matthew Lillard is a classic choice in my opinion for D&D. I also feel that Matthew Lillard would bring the energy to the table and would act the hell out of his character. Henry Cavill would get really into it and that is always fun to watch whenever playing a game in general. He could also really help bring a story to life with how dedicated he is to stuff like comics, The Witcher, and Warhammer. With Nancy Cartwright, playing and hearing one of her iconic voices yelling or saying this outlandish things with the other players just makes sense to me. To finish it all off, I think Billy West could bring the chaos to the group. Especially paired up with Nancy Cartwright, if the two did characters with the personalities of Bart from The Simpsons and Zapp Brannigan from Futurama, that would just be a chef's kiss to the group.
Just had this idea and thought it would be fun to talk about. I hope you all have a great day!
Matt Mercer for obvious reasons. Ellen because I've seen her play before in Oxventure (and she just seems like a really fun and cool person). Adam Savage because he is so creative, energetic, and always seems very nice. Taliesin because I always enjoy his characters on Critical Role and he could bring a fun darker side to the game. Matthew Patrick because he's very smart and creative and just seems like a really fun and caring person.
I'm always of the persuasion that good players are empathetic players, and I think my chosen group here has that in spades.
Honestly, I'd still pick the folks I play with now.
We've played together for the last 45 years. Our kids and grandkids play together.
The only problem is that 5 others is too few, and I wouldn't leave any of them out. my smallest group in an active campaign right now is 7 -- and I have four campaigns with 9, 9, 7, and 7.
that said,if famous people want to play, I won't say no. I will say that we don't have time to fan them, however -- there's plots a cookin and they need to solve some challenges...

This is such a great idea! You really have a dream group there! Jon Favreau as a DM would be incredible, especially with his talent for writing and directing. He would bring an immersive and nuanced approach to NPCs, which is essential for a successful campaign. I can already imagine the variety of characters he would play, from complex antagonists to shady merchants to unforgettable allies. In short, he would be a charismatic and captivating Dungeon Master

Nice idea! I'll join in the fun:
DM: Matthew Mercer
Players:
Matt Mercer for obvious reasons. Ellen because I've seen her play before in Oxventure (and she just seems like a really fun and cool person). Adam Savage because he is so creative, energetic, and always seems very nice. Taliesin because I always enjoy his characters on Critical Role and he could bring a fun darker side to the game.
