I signed up for sigil closed beta and waited for months, then I came on here and found out it had already been released! I got my party so hyped up because it also let up to four players join so we could finally stop drawing really bad maps that don't work. And no, I didn't delete the e-mail.
The closed section was less than clear. They started it, but a lot of the people they said would be invited weren't invited until after it closed and it became open.
The good news is that it's now open and you can try it out.

I don't think it'll be embarrassing, I think it'll be fine. We have no idea how it's going to run until it drops, and although at the Influencer summit it needed a lot of processing power, that was also a Pre-Alpha build to showcase general vibes.
They asked them what the "most important improvements" were and making it run better on lower quality machines, while running streaming software, was the overwhelming response.
Also, Maps will still exist on D&D Beyond, and the functionality on that is now pretty close to Roll 20. So even if the Sigil VTT isn't everything they dreamed, buying the books from a single source and getting immediate functioning VTT access with a guided character creation process will be a big hit for them.

I doubt they'll have ignored that. https://xender.vip/
