I’ve been generally very happy with the recent updates to the D&D Beyond platform. The Party Inventory update is easily one of my favorite features ever released, and the recent additions to Maps have been fantastic—it’s great to see a streamlined, functional tool that integrates so well with our existing library. Looking back, Project Sigil was a brilliant and ambitious concept, although it didn't ultimately move forward. In that same spirit of innovation, I’m hoping we might see a return to a concept from the 2022 roadmap that felt like a perfect fit for the DDB ecosystem: the General Features system.
I believe reviving this would be a massive "quality of life" win. While Maps handles the tactical side of the game, a General Features system would solve the mechanical side by finally allowing native integration for:
Piety and Renown (like in Theros or Ravnica)
Supernatural Gifts and Dark Gifts
Epic Boons, Charms, and Blessings
Third-party modular mechanics that currently require creative homebrew workarounds.
With the platform’s growing list of partnerships, having a dedicated "General Features" slot would make the DDB character sheet the most flexible tool in the industry. I’d love to know if this system is still being explored as part of the long-term vision for the digital sheet!
They're doing a full rebuild of the character service, so the general feature system is likely either a part of that now, or going to be rendered moot by it

For those who might not remember, you can see the original vision in this Dev Update video from 2022.
