based on a recent post by Cyb3rM1nd, I was thinking that it might be useful to have some sort of stickied post in the general forum, that has links to "How to" articles on using D&D Beyond.
With all of the functionality that the site has, and sometimes multiple ways of accomplishing the same thing, it can sometimes be confusing on the best way to do something.
Is this something that you would find useful?
If so, what sort of things would you like to see posts explaining "how to"? What cool tricks and tips have you found that you'd like to share with the community?
I'd love suggestions in this thread please!
I'm already working on more homebrew tutorial threads, so that will hopefully be covered soon.
Well, basic guides should show for brand new users, with images. Like how to unlock content for a campaign, a step-by-step character creator, or a guide to your digital character sheet. How to navigate D&D Beyond. Assume no prior knowledge, as you could have new users of any age or experience with computers.
Guides for new features, like adding creatures to character sheets or the eventual encounter builder. If mods get early knowledge and access, something they can do to help the community is get a guide ready to go at launch.
And advanced guides such as homebrewing, but a different guide for each type. Magic items, races, subclasses, etc. How to do that fancy stuff like auto-calculate off of the character's stats, etc.
In addition to guides, a resource compilation listing would be nice too. Where else to go for D&D content that may be helpful or relevant. Obvious links would be like Adventurers League, DMs Guild, and Unearthed Arcana.
I've never really looked for any of these things myself, so I dont know if any of this already exists.
