Hello! I want to double class my rogue with Wizard. I took a wizard feat early on that gave me three spells. I’m trying to use those spells to impress a high level wizard who had agreed to be my teacher should I be able to show him something unique with how I use them.
I need an Idea that allows me to combine my stealth and rogue abilities with the spells find familiar, mage hand, and shocking grasp.
Well, for Find Familiar it says in the description "Finally, when you Cast a Spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an Attack roll, you use your Attack modifier for the roll." Since shocking grasp is a touch range spell, you could use your familiar as a distraction and then use shocking grasp on a target when they least expect it. Then, you could use mage hand to steal something from off them/behind them while remaining undetected yourself, showing off your magical/roguish prowess. Or something like that at least.
Too bad you already chose your spells, as I'd suggest the following:
Cast Suggestion on him and suggest that he was highly impressed with your display.
;)
He's not a wizard yet and the only spells are from Magic Initiate which grants one 1st level spell. Very few feats (and none official) let you cast Suggestion, since it is a 2nd level spell.

I'd mostly role-play this using persuasion rather than try to find a way of impressing the Wizard merely casting spells in a clever way. Wizards are typically prideful and often times vane people. They study hours on end practicing the arcane arts. Being able to cast a 1st level spell and a couple of cantrips, even in a clever way, would more than likely not impress them.
Instead, I'd explain to the wizard that you have had little to know formal training in the arcane arts, and despite that lack of training, you have been able to scribe the following spell and cantrips. With the wizard's far superior tutelage as their student (appealing to their pride), your studying could probably progress by leaps and bounds.
