In the Dev update Adam said when you buy the Essentials kit it has a code in the box get the adventure on dndbeyond and then future quests that will be added. If you don't want the physical stuff and only want the adventure and future quests will there be an option to just buy the digital versions? There is already a preorder up for the Avernus adventure but not the Dragon of Icespire Peak, is the only way to get it to buy the box in a store?
Code in the box? I hadn't heard that bit yet, nice. I'll be grabbing it at Target, I like the starter sets in hard copy. Nice to know I'll have it here too.
Yes, that is correct - the Essentials kit not only has a code in the box to unlock Dragons of Ice Spire on D&D Beyond for free, but it also has a 50% discount coupon for the Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond, that you can use yourself or give to a friend.
When The Essentials set is released, Target have an exclusivity period - during this period, Target is the only place you can purchase the set.
After the exclusivity period finishes, the Essentials set will be available at other retailers, this includes being able to buy the adventure on D&D Beyond.
