Hey guys, so I'm super new here, and to DND in general, I watch alot of stories and do a lot a reading about it and what not. I don't know where to start really so here goes: I was thinking about writing up a character/ story based my own person, and the adventures would be just daily life, exaggerated to make it interesting of course. Where loot and xp would be acquired through say, payday, defeating the Karen at the supermarket,t finding a penny on the side walk etc. I carry a d20 everywhere for some reason, I'd use that to base decisions on and I do alot of journaling and writing so I always have a notepad with me. Has anyone ever heard of or tried anything similar before? Or is it just lame? Any input, ideas or anything would be appreciated! Thanks guys!
I highly recommend Acquisitions Incorporated book. It brings a spark of modern corporate elements into the D&D setting that may be suitable for things like doing jobs in the office, and making your own franchise.

Not saying you can't, but D&D rules were made for running magic, sword, and high adventure types of games. There are much better systems out there to simulate the actions of non-fantasy world people. Call of Cthulu rules, for one. You might also want to try some of stuff published by White Wolf.
