I made an artificer for an upcoming campaign so I preordered eberon rising. What will happen to my playtest artificer when the official class comes out? Will it delete my character that I already have?
Your character that is using the UA version of the Artificer will continue to be able to do so.
As you have purchased Eberron: Rising from the Last War - you will also be able to update that character to the new artificer class, or create a new artificer character.
Basically the class you are currently using will just be renamed "Artificer (UA)" and new characters won't be able to select that version of the class.
You can keep using the UA version or switch to the new version.
