Hello! I am a new player and I am looking for some help with making a character. I am using the dice method and have the stats, they are a Human Noble Fighter but sadly that's what I've gotten to. Any help would be very appreciated.
When you create a character in DnDB, there is a clickable box that turns on Step-by-Step assistance. Since you have not gotten very far, just record what you have, and restart the process. Make sure you click on the helper guide this time.
My advice to any person making a character: come up with the character first. Not the stats, but the type of person you want to roleplay. Not necessarily a backstory, but ask yourself these types of questions:
Are they optimistic or pessimistic?
Do they run into battle, or hang back?
Are they driven by gold or by honor, or something else?
Those are the types of things to know going in. When you have those kind of things solidified, the specific selections will fill themselves in almost.
Now, I'm not a min-maxer, I'm a roleplaying person. If you're looking for the best build, I got nothing. haha

"But, did it look cool?" - Ozaka, Tabaxi Paladin, impaled upside down on a dungeon wall.
Make sure that when you've added equipment, that you go back into the inventory section and actually equip it. For example, if you have added a shield in the Add Items section, make sure that you look in your inventory and check the box next to your shield so that it shows up in the "Active Items" list. This is what adds the +2 to AC that shields provide when you are looking at your character sheet. This applies to weapons, armor, and a few other types of items.

So you have race, class, abilities, background. Add equipment and start playing?
What do you actually need help with?
