So for the campaign I am planning on the party encountering and old player character of mine a lawful evil teifling magus who was made a lord by devils and mortals alike (a scary character)
although I have lost his gear page and cannot remember what weapons he wielded so let’s come up with some ideas shall we.
a little bit about the character he had one major flaw that he was a collector he hunted round the world for the most unique artifacts and items to display in his home.
so knowing this what do you think a lord who is a major collector would have on his person the weapons that he would use the pride of his collection?
a note he fights with two weapons (one in each hand) so they could be paired items or two unique ones let your imagination go wild
Does he get into melee with physical weapons? Or does he try to avoid melee and use magical items?
I can see someone like that researching a magic spell to merge magic items so that one absorbs the properties of the other one while the other one crumbles into dust. So he’d have a Broom of Flying that absorbed a Cloak of Elvenkind and had the properties of both. Or a Sword of Sharpness that absorbed a Ring of Fire Resistance.
For general spelunking/dungeon delving personal items: Ring of Mind Shielding and Amulet of Proof against detection and location (because constantly casting Nondetection is expensive and other people reading your mind and trying to compel you to be honest is annoying), a Hell-blade (treat as moon blade but its infernal in origin, a present from Uncle Asmodeus, LE sentient weapon, seeks the advancement of Devil-kind and Infernal ideals and has 9 runes...one for each layer of the Hells) and Robe of the Arch-magi.
For "decor"/options around the house/keep/castle....
Githyanki Silver Sword
Tooth from an Astral Dreadnought
A piece of "Tarrasque" hide
A Dragons hoard (with dragon still in situ)
A Snowglode with an actual tiny village inhabited by people (its a creation of a Demiplane spell and the people are prisoners there)
A Lich Phylactery (won in a poker game and the Lich wants it back)
A Mirror of Life Trapping
Several Rugs of Smothering and Mimics as security
The Golem Room (A display area like a garage showing all the different forms of Golem he has collected and a few empty stands for the ones he is missing)
Reginald Postlethwaite Orgo Footumpsh Codswallop the Third (A demon from the abyss that is forced to serve as a butler and use that ridiculous name)
The Marut Board ( a a gaming table that is inscribed with many sigils and glyphs of binding, it was made from a Marut, and anyone who plays a game on it and attempts to cheat in any way gets cursed/takes damage)
The Swimming Pool (feed from a rift into the elemental plane of water and it also doubles as the houses source of water, try not to dive too deep in-case you find the rift)
The Trash Shute (a portal that empties into a volcano)

Typically he joins in the fight with melee
