Hi all! Hopefully I didn't miss the perfect thread for this, but I was curious on the advantages of purchasing the MM? From what I've read in other threads, the purchase would grant me access to the monsters in other parts of Beyond. Thing is, I seem to already have that access when both viewing monsters and in the encounter builder. Best I can tell, I seem to have access to monsters from almost all sources (not complaining).
Is that due to my 'master' subscription plan? I love beyond and if there are features I can access by paying I'd be happy to, but currently I'm struggling to understand the value in purchasing the MM (or other monster sources).
Look forward to any advice or information, and learning the forums. Thanks!
If you're in a campaign with content sharing enabled, you'll have access to all the content owned by everyone else in that campaign. The subscriptions don't grant access to content on their own.
Also many monsters are in the srd, which you can access for free (under the Basic Rules), but the monster manual includes even more monsters, plus the lore

Let's test. Can you view the beholder, gazer, elder oblex, changeling, or wurm?
Ahhhh okay. I’m in a friends campaign who probably purchased all the books, this my ability to see them too. Gotcha. Didn’t even think of that.
Thanks!

Yea. After reading the comments, I think it’s because a friend is sharing their content with me. Thanks for the help!
