My friends and I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about a year now and we always meet in person. None of us can leave our houses due to quarantine so we all downloaded discord and I made a server for us to play on. Yesterday was our first time playing over discord and it went decently smooth. I could be looking too far into it, but a majority of the time my friends sounded bored or like they didn't care. When we meet in person everyone is always engaged and we all have a great time. If anyone has any tips on playing online that could make the experience more fun i would appreciate it!
My four friends play a Arcane Trickster Rogue, a Gloomstalker Ranger Tabaxi, a Beastmaster Ranger Aarocokra, and a Oath of Devotion Paladin Aasimar. They killed a man who sold them a cursed scroll (more like begged them to take it) when we left off our previous meeting. We picked up on the high charisma paladin convincing the guards that the man had too much to drink and everything was fine. The party stole some brandy and our lovely tabaxi put on a strip show in the middle of the street and was run out of town. Then we did a quick three day travel montage. They have just arrived in Dante, a large Genasi city that has more brothels and booze than a party of drunk strippers could know what to do with. They were in a bar when a bar fight was struck by the rogue when she was told to lay off the alcohol. In the midst of this fight it was revealed that the bar was infested with various Mephits which the party fought. By the end of the battle the bar had mostly burnt down due to the nature of Magma Mephits exploding into magma when they die and the bar being made of predominantly alcohol soaked wood. What would normally be an exciting fight was dull and it seemed like they just wanted the battle to be over with. This is all of our first campaign except for the guy that plays the aasimar. We've been playing for a year now (we don't meet very often though).

Could be a case of cabin fever or the state of things just giving your players the blues.
Can you give more details about your campaign?
I'll be honest I personally cant tell you what could help cause IMO it's more about the state of mind of your players more than anything else.
A big part of peoples enjoyment may come from the face to face social interaction which is missing unfortunately. There may be an adjustment period.
A little more info about your campaign setting, players, and characters could help though.
