Ok, made it to 7th level druid last night. was looking at spells and was wondering what advice people would have.

Also, Ice storm says it does 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 4d6 cold on a failed save, half if successful save. Does that mean it does 2d8 B. damage and only half of the 4d6 cold? or half of the entire damage, bludgeoning and cold combined?

By the way, I'm playing a circle of the land: Mountain druid so I'm more spell caster than wild shape driven.

Save for half of total damage (combined cold and bludgeoning in this case).

Call lightning is your go to spell when you are outside and can use it. You can take a look here for druid spells ranked by level in terms of usefulness. I find the site in general to be a pretty reliable build guide.

Thanks for the link. As circle of the Land: Mountain I have lightning bolt which I find comes in more handy. Will take a look at the link you provided and see.
