A lot of DM's don't like the Mystic class and may not allow the class in their campaigns. (The class may not even be a thing anymore) BUT! If your DM is still cool with the class, I have figured out a way to get infinite Psi Points with a mix of Mystic and Wizard.
First Note: For this to work, you must be a total 20th level character, so this is not something that can be achieved at lower levels.
Getting Into It:
1) When you start, go into Wizard 10 levels and choose the School of Necromancy. (This will be important later.)
2) When you multiclass into Mystic, your 2nd level ability Mystic Recovery allows you to regain hit points equal to the number of Psi Points you spend as a bonus action.
3) The Mystic's 10th level ability Consumptive Power allows you to use your own hit points as Psi Points. Your current hit points and hit point maximum are both reduced by how many you choose to use. HOWEVER! Due to your handy - dandy 10th level Wizard ability Inured to Undeath, your hit point maximum cannot be reduced. At all. Ever.
4) Use your bonus action to regain a number of hit points equal to how many you lost from your hp.
In conclusion: 1: use action to use Psi Points equal to however many you need, pulling from your pool of hit points, only reducing your CURRENT hit points --- 2: use your bonus action to regain the hit points you lost. And there you have it. Infinite Psi Points.
I might be missing somehting in the mechanics there, how is it infinite?
So you HP Maximum cannot be reduced but your HP still can. If you are spending Hit points as Psi points you can still kill yourself by reducing your HP to zero. And if you are spending Psi Points to heal Hit Points you are not gaining anything: for instnace if you have 20hp and you use your action to rain yourself 6hp and turn theat into psi points then use a bonus action to use those 6 psi points ot heal yourself 6hp so you are back to 20hp, it doesn;t appear to ahve done anything except use your action and bonus action.
In my opinion, any sane DM will say, Inured to Undeath does prevent your HP max from going down, and therefore prevents you from using Consumptive Power. That is Consumptive Power grants you Psi equal to the reduction in your HP Max, and as your HP Max has not gone down, you get zero PSI.
To me it's like you buy the parts to convert a V8 engine into a Hemi and try to install them on an Electric Car. The Electric Car does not use gasoline so converting gasoline cylinders to have more space does not help it.
i'd likely go with a similar rule along the lines of in order to use the ability you have to drop all your own defenses/resistances to get it to work correctly, much like the Life Transference spell errata which now says you cannot reduce the damage you take from casting it in any way (ie no applying your resistance to necrotic damage).

Only problem is you are stuck as a level 20 full caster that can only cast max level 5 spells. Yuck!

He plans on healing himself.

1) action drain HP and covert to psi points
2) use bonus action to heal self with potion
3) rinse and repeat.....
