Just had a couple of quick questions from my last game, any help is GREATLY appreciated....
1) Do natural '20' rolls auto succeed on Saving Throws? and natural '1' auto fail for Saving Throws? I thought it was only for skill checks did 'Nats' not auto succeed...
2) If you have a familiar, and you are in the blast of an AoE, (ie, Fireball), does the familiar also have to make a save? does he take damage even if on your person? Anyone know the RAW for this... I mean, any AoE would auto kill a Familiar almost all the time if there is not something for them to be safe on their caster....
Nat 20s only auto succeed on attack rolls. Chances are, if you roll a 20 on a saving throw you're passing, because there are very few DC 25 saving throws in the game, but it isn't an automatic "yes I succeeded!"
The familiar is its own creature occupying its own space. if it is in the AoE, it has to make a save. If you are and it isn't, it doesn't have to do anything because it isn't being affected. If the familiar is on your person and you are in the range of the AoE... well, since it's on you, it is in range and thus would have to make the save as well.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
Not sure why, I always thought if a Familiar was on your person it didn't take the damage from AoEs, but maybe an old rule (older edition, or a homebrew)...
