I wanna make a warlock who made a pact with a devil that was very fond of him, but could never have direct interaction. The devil's terms and the warlock's request aligned quite well. He wished to be forgotten by all once he left them. The devil wished to watch the warlock more and interact more. So the devil consumes the lost memories and takes them as their own. Or something like that. Still don't have it fleshed out. Any ideas of stuff to add, how to rp, how to play this character mechanically?
Things that come to mind are what happens with the warlock's memories of the people he knew whose memories were taken, and possibly whether he gets to remember making a deal and what the terms of it are. If not, he'll want to know where these holes in his memory come from, maybe try to have them restored; after all, he'd still know history and the names of places he's been and retain his skills, but he'd remember nothing of his parents or other relatives, how he grew up. Essentially he wouldn't know who he is, as so much of our identity is derived from our relationships with others. And he might think he's a sorcerer, or he might realize some unknown entity is providing him with magical powers - if so, he's probably desperate to know who, why and how.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
I read this and instantly thought of the character of Sue Heck from a series called "The Middle". She goes through school largely being ignored and forgotten, teachers don't even realise she is in their class, she gets left out of year books etc.
It might be quite hard to do mechanically, the easiest way might be just to say the warlock has no way of gaining any form of reputation without taking extreme measures.Maybe give them Advantage or Disadvantage on some of their rolls to interact with people. On the bonus side they might get advantage to bluff their way out of being arrested as no one can identify them but on the down side they might get disadvatange on buying from merchants because they havee no recolection of the warlock ever being a returning customer.

What was the OP's question again? The details keep slipping from my memory...
One recommendation I have is that the creature make Wisdom save to remember the character. Otherwise, important enemies or even the BBEG could forget about the character about this. You should work with your DM to figure out the details.
