I believe there to be plans for a map-maker. I know that a "virtual tabletop", as it is called, is not planned.
The part in bold is news to me, but if it is true it would seem odd to only go that far. I thought they said in the most recent Twitch stream that they were looking into ways to integrate to some extant with existing virtual tabletops.

I don't know about live streams or VTT integration, but a lot of people, myself included, consider map-making an important part of campaign management.

Are there any plans to incorporate a map making tool or virtual battle map that the DM and players can use during a game?
(I apologize if this has been covered)

Hi there, I couple of friends and I are working on a DM toolkit, with a Cartographer (map making) and Soundscapes (Music and ambience) module. You can print our work on any digital surface with a HDMI:
