Yeah, don't worry... the homebrew item system while decent is missing a lot of features. I've been playing around with it but am getting frustrated by the 5-10 minute gap between saving the item and having it updated in the character equipment [Manage Items] drop down.
I don't know that this particular weapon will be able to be made entirely as a homebrew item. The best I can think to do is use the Pike's base stats (1d10 Piercing, Reach, Heavy, 2-handed) and then manually override the damage die to 1d8 once it's on the character sheet using the [Customize] feature.
I'm just waiting for the system to update the darn item so that I can see if that's a viable option.
Sadly that won't work either. The system is designed to allow you to override the [To Hit] value or add a [Damage Bonus] value, but not override the [Damage Die] value.
So basically, the item would need to be created as, and would mechanically function, as a pike for the sake of damage. Granted, everything else would work fine... though the Special attribute that allows "Large or smaller" creatures to be pushed back would be in the Description only.
That's the best I can figure out, unfortunately. Maybe someone else can offer a suggestion? I haven't, admittedly, used the Homebrew system very much and, therefore, my experience is seriously limited. Perhaps there's something that I'm just not aware of and/or seeing.
I was going to utilise the boar spear weapon for a character build but I can't seem to find it.
Can anyone help me with this
It looks like it's not an official weapon - instead being homebrew - so you could always create a homebrew item. Homebrew - D&D Beyond (dndbeyond.com)
It looks like there are 2 entries on DDB under Homebrew already created but I'm not sure they're what you're looking for.
What iteration of the Boar Spear are you looking for? Is it this one? Boar Spear (5e Equipment) - D&D Wiki (dandwiki.com)
That is the one
I also tried homebrew as a magic item but I am not very good at it as I failed 3 times before giving up ☹️
Any help with that will be greatly appreciated as well
