Hi, I'd like to get the community's feedback on my homebrew magic item. It's basically a copy of the "Shrink Item" spell from 3.5e. Specifically, I'm looking for what limits I should place on it and what rarity you'd classify it as (Rare, at the moment). I appreciate any feedback on it.
This wondrous item appears as a metallic brooch. The brooch appears as a shield made of metallic scales. When the command word is spoken while placed against an object, the Diminisher affixes itself to the object, folds up like a closing flower bud, and the item shrinks down to 1/16th of it's former dimensions and 1/8000th of it's former volume along with the Diminisher. While shrunk, the object may be moved and carried like any object of it's new size. The item will stay shrunk until the command word is spoken again while the shrunken object is being handled, at which point the Diminisher harmless detaches.
