i’m making a homebrew subclass that adds spellcasting to the fighter class, but even at level twenty, my spell list only displays spells up to the 4th level. how can i gain access to higher level spells?
Fighter subclasses with spellcasting (the Eldritch Knight) are a 1/3 caster, so that progression is defined as part of the class - it's not something you can currently change as part of the subclass.
You can add features that grant specific spells, or their choice of spells a number of times per long/short rest, which may help with what you want to do.
