I have not seen it, but keep in mind Cap's shield is composed of what might as well be a magical material allowing for all the versatility. If Cap's shield were commonplace, you'd be introducing some sort of mithril/adamantine type material into your game with more ramifications for items beyond shields. I'd keep it a rare item, or maybe have it be found in Wakanda whatever isolated civilization that thrives upon this element, but also conceals their prosperity to prevent others from attempting to seize it.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
You may equip or unequip this shield using a Bonus action rather than a full action.
You may use the shield as a thrown weapon with range 20/30 using Strength as your attack modifier. On a successful hit the shield deals 1d6 plus your strength modifier bludgeoning damage. Hit or miss, the shield then returns to your hand.

Some notes on my design for this:
This item provides +2 AC as a normal shield. The equip/unequip bonus action allows it to be removed and thrown in the same turn, but not re-equipped. Why have I done this? Because if the weapon is a ranged weapon in addition to being a shield, it is effectively a ranged weapon that also provides a +2 armour bonus, which is essentially like having a +2 suit of armor.
An alternative would be to allow the user to attack with it as a bonus action and have it automatically re-equip when it returns, but it would then need to be Very Rare as it would provide a whole additional attack.

Throwing Shield, ala Captain America-ish.
Does anyone have a Homebrew for one AND... have they paired it with the Returning Weapon infusion from an Artificer?
