For one of my adventures, I want to create a new deity that would the driving force behind the adventure. At the end of the adventure I want to grant a sort of feat or favor from this deity but I don't want to make it too overpowered to the point it would break campaigns later in the future. What would be some of your suggestions for a favor that would be granted by a deity?
A good general strategy for dealing with granting parties boons and items, when you think it might be too powerful, is to grant something with limited uses, or something that lasts for a limited time.
Triple healing ... for one cycle of the moon.
Arrows of Slaying ... which discharge and become non-magical if they slay their target.
Potions
Scrolls
Etc.
If you find that what you granted is not too powerful, then maybe you can grant it to them again, later, for other reasons, on a permanent basis.

DMG Chapter 7 has a whole section dedicated to non-treasure rewards, including blessings from a deity.
A free feat, a minor boost to one of a character's combat stats or a magic item would be fine.
