Let me know what you think, feel free to steal and let me know if the rarity level seems off. Thanks!
I added a bit of a narrative/reflection for each item, but feel free to skip those. The items are in quote boxes so you can find them easily. :)
This first one is pretty badass for Monks and Warlocks, Fighters too. The catch is that you actually go to sleep for a while, so you need a safe place to use it. Not sure how it affects characters that don't sleep like Reborn or Elves or some Tome Warlocks. I'd probably allow them to use the same trance rule, although it would also be reasonable to say that this is the counter-effect of having a shorter Long Rest requirement and those characters can't use this. But I'm usually a "fun first" kinda DM and not allowing a fun item to be used is not really fun. Class specific items aside.
The Weighted Blanket of Swift Recovery
Once per long rest, you can take a short rest in 1 minute by taking a nap underneath the blanket. If you cover yourself with the blanket, you can decide to fall asleep immediately. You automatically wake up after 1 minute, feeling refreshed. (Rare, attunement) Weighs 15lbs.
I like this. A quirky and powerful non-combat item.
Chef Cerrybuck’s Comprehensive Communication Collection (Attunement, rare)
Enchanted by the renowned Master Kimora. It has 1d4 charges. While you are holding the book, you can use an Action to expend one charge and cast the Tongues spell. The book regains 1d4 charges at dawn. In addition, if you spend 12 consecutive hours studying the book and make a successful DC14 Intelligence save, you can permanently learn one Standard Language (common, dwarvish, elvish, draconic, giant, gnomish, halfling, orcish, goblin). Each time you learn a language this way, the DC increases by one. If you fail the save, you suffer one level of Exhaustion that lasts until you take two Long Rests.
Simple and straight forward. There are similar items out there, but this one is a book.
Van Richten’s Guide to Bravery (uncommon, attunement)
It takes 3 hours to read the book, including the one hour it takes to attune to it. When Attuned and within 30ft of the book, you gain Advantage to saving throws against being Frightened and +1 to all Wisdom saves.
This one is not really a Magic Item, but it grants a mechanical effect nonetheless. Really proud of this one as it utilizes the Inspiration mechanic.
Gabanezer’s Ultimatum
The autobiography of the fabled adventurer Gabanezer, containing detailed stories about his legendary Expedition Into the Unknown Hells, among other remarkable adventures. Value 75gp. If you spend one hour reading this book as part of a Long Rest, you gain one inspiration. (Cannot be used again until midnight)
The Next one is similar to the Ring of Spell Storing, but stores slots and requires a short rest to retrieve them. I'm juggling between Rare and Uncommon. Being able to save spell slots is pretty good, but it's only 4 levels and it requires a Short Rest to retrieve them.
The Book of Recovery (Attunement, Uncommon)
During a short rest, you can save up to 4 levels worth of spell slots within the book. You need to expend these spell slots in the process. During any future short rest, you can recover the saved slots. If you break your attunement, the slots are lost.
This one is very powerful because of its versatility, although its effect is nothing you wouldn't find in an uncommon item.
Arwankaiser’s Floating Book of Many Talents (Very Rare, attunement)
Upon attuning to this item, you can choose one Ability Score that becomes 19 as long as you are within 10ft of the book.
The book constantly attempts to to levitate next to you in the air and follows you wherever you go if possible. The book's ability to levitate equals a Strength Score of 6, so a simple bag won't stop it from floating. The book has a mouth-like hole on the cover. You can change the Ability affected by this item once every seven days by placing 150gp into the hole and spending one hour of a Long Rest Re-Attuning to it. The coins are consumed in the process and you suffer one level of exhaustion that lasts until your next Long Rest. If this level of Exhaustion is removed before your next Long Rest is completed, you become immediately Exhausted again.
When affected by this item, you are also affected by the following cosmetic effects:
Strength: Your muscles become large and bulky. Especially your legs become large and thick. You can no longer fully extend your legs, so you are always slightly crouched.
Dexterity: You can turn your head 180 degrees like an owl and your muscles feel and seem rubbery. Your skin becomes slightly purple.
Constitution: Your skin is always covered in gray membrane. You shed the membrane once a week and on the last day of the week, it comes off in slimy chunks, revealing a fresh layer.
Wisdom: You grow small deer antlers.
Intelligence: Your head grows a bit, especially around the brain. This change does not cause any physical problems to yourself, but is clearly visible to others.
Charisma: Your teeth shine visibly. When your mouth is open, your teeth shed bright light within 30cm from your mouth and dim light within 5ft.
HOMEBREW MAGIC ITEMS, Enjoy!

Cool! I like the blanket.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
