Its a tiny homebrew but I like letting eldritch knights bond shields as well as weapons, I also allow a quiver + arrows to be part of a bond to a bow. I feel as if it helps eldritch knights have more diverse builds while still keeping their weapon bond relevant, I'm honestly surprised its not RAW.

I'm curious whether anyone else plays this way or if its actually uncommon.

Never really played Eldritch Knight, but sounds fair to me to be honest. Maybe make some different effects for it, cause most eldritch weapons are, well, weapons.
