Hi! I am brewing a throwing knife that supposes to be a bit better than a normal dagger. Is there a way for me to set a custom the throwing distance (normal and max)? I would prefer to do that in the item itself instead of a custom override for a character. Thank you!
D&D Beyond doesn't currently support homebrewing of normal equipment, which includes weapons.
You can easily create a custom attack on your character sheet though, with any properties that you like - this would probably be the best way forward.
Ah, I see. I used magical item creation to homebrew this belt for now. It is not ideal, but my player happy to get the item from the DDB campaign. I guess for now we just agree on throwing distance since it is not something I can overweight on the character sheet. Hopefully brewing normal equipment will be possible in the future. I am new to DM, but it feels like simple custom things like that really help players to engage with their characters.
