First I would like to apologise for any english mistakes since this is not my main language
So, I was just thinking (or trying to) could there be another school of magic? I started to think and realized that the 8 schools encompass basically everything, I thought of a school of time, but that is on transmutation because it bends and changes stuff, also a healing school, but it is on evocation/necromancy or even transmutation too. Coming to think of it I realized that a new school of magic would have to be something related to something that we don't understand (btw congratulations WOTC for making something that can explain everything in 8 topics)
The aftermath is: I had an idea that maybe doesn't fall on any of the other schools and I want your opinion on it (or other schools too) the premise of the school is experience, like life experience or something, the spells could be gaining (or taking) experience points, or using them to do stuff, like transforming a number of experience points in one class to another, possibly gaining levels in that class, other thing would be (and I think this would be the 9° level spell) chosing an ability from another class and aquire it (like reckless attack, second wind, wild shape, etc)
This was the most far that I got trying to think of something that don't fit in any other school, what do you think?
My mind immediately jumps to the spell skill empowerment. A creature could also gain life experience through divination.
Coming up with a 9th school is supposed to be difficult. Wizards wants every spell to fit nicely into these 8 categories. Perhaps instead of considering what result a spell has, how a spell is cast.
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
Also could be abilities related to proficiency, like gaining proficiency for a time in a specific saving throw or skill, the material components could be the experience points
Also this would require a bit of roleplay when casting the spells because you are actually gaining life time experience from nothing
