I wanted to make a Sorcerer subclass that has a list of spells that are always prepared, without counting towards their total spells known, like the Aberrant Mind subclass from UA. I've looked through some other forum posts, but can't seem to find an answer to my question.
Have you tried copying the Aberrant Mind and looking how it’s set up?
I’ve done this for ranger, but I can’t remember the details right now so can’t give you step by step instructions, sorry. But you can see how the Aberrant Mind works and just do that.
Here's how we configured the spells for that feature. 😀
As part of a subclass feature, you'll see at the bottom of the page, there are spells/mods etc. Add a spell there - make sure to add each spell individually. Only override values of the spell behaviour that you need to override - in this case "consumes spell slot" and "counts as known spell"
