I've crafted my own subclass since we can't delete attacks like divine smite off of a paladin to attempt to recreate a paladin with an altered divine smite. The best way to do this was to make a fighter and make a subclass, which I promptly named Devotee. After I had added all of the abilities, spells, etc that I was wanting, I selected "Yes" under "Can Cast Spells". Lo and behold, I find my character completely unable to cast spells for... some reason. I thought it was the lack of an arcane focus or some equipment, but no. I'm stumped. Can anyone help me out?

So, this belongs in the Homebrew subforum, not... "Digital Dice Feedback" :p
That said, do you have a subclass feature named "Spellcasting"? That's required to add spellcasting to a subclass.
