Hello, I am creating a homebrew class where I add my Charisma modifier to my Perception checks. How do I go about adding my Charisma modifier to these rolls. I am new to the custom class section of DnD beyond and most things I see about adding ability modifiers is for weapons and not skill checks.
As far as I'm aware there isn't a way to change which skill checks relate to which abilities as to my knowledge there aren't any current class skills that do this but I may be wrong. I've not seen an option in homebrew subclass creation that fits this I don't think.
Out of curiosity what is the lore reason this new subclass can use Charisma to perceive things?
Sorry I should clarify, it is not a total replacement. It is adding my charisma score as a bonus to my perception check skills.
Lore reason is that there is a spirit that aids the player in perceiving things. The only bonus the player benefits from is adding their Charisma score to Passive Perception(WIS) and Perception checks.

Make a modifier.
Do nothing else. Done.
