I'm trying to make a homebrew magic item. It's a ring that increases melee weapon attack damage by 1d8+3. I set its modifiers up as such:
Firstly, apparently the attack type needs to be specified. It'd be cleaner if it didn't have to be. But I fixed that by adding a modifier for DEX and another, otherwise identical modifier for STR.
More importantly, it seems like only the +3 part is being added. When the ring is off:
And when it's on:
Is there a way to add the 1d8, as well as the +3?
