I'm thinking about creating a summoner class that closely resembles the Warlocks from World of Warcraft and the Summoners from Final Fantasy. I've seen ones online where you summon something called an adalien, but I'm not a fan of it. I'd like it to be a full caster class with the option of picking one of 3 options at appropriate level 1.)summoning multiple small creatures
2.)summoning one creature
3.)summoning a creature and having it merge with the caster
I'm wondering if people would be interested in this at all and if anybody has any ideas of what they would like to see. Let me know what you guys think.
Out of all conjugation spells, summoning spells may be my least favorite ones. That’s probably because teleportation out paces everything in my mind.
Instead of it being a whole new class, a wizard subclass would fit better. It would be fun to see something similar to War Magic, where you combine two schools. Perhaps Conjuration and Transmutation?

I was trying to create a summoner class based off of the magicians in one of my little sibling’s books (for him). I forget what it was called, but it did actually produce fairly good results.
I wanted to create a druid that is basically a summoner, a lot of her spells she will pick as she levels will be the Summon Animal, etc. Circle of the Shepard seems good since you can summon spirit animals...
I’d really like to make a warlock summoner that’s able to capture creatures it comes across. Basically the Ash Ketchum of warlocks. Perhaps buying crystals and combining it with the find familiar spell, perhaps incorporating advantages and disadvantages based on how strong the creature is, how much health it has and what kind of gem or crystals you use. I’d need a lot of help making it but if anyone else is up for it I’d really appreciate the assistance.

The Great Old One's 14th feature Create Thrall is a place to start as that let's you charm one incapacitated humanoid.
